The upcoming production of Working at Ridgefield’s A Contemporary Theatre (A.C.T.) of Connecticut, running from February 14 through March 10, promises authenticity and groundbreaking innovation. Artistic Director Daniel C. Levine, who collaborated closely with Stephen Schwartz, has infused the musical with fresh perspectives by incorporating interviews with local workers. Levine explained, “These voices should somehow be in the show, and I didn’t quite know how. I just had this thought that it would be cool not to have actors play the Ridgefield workers but to somehow really have them in the show.” Schwartz praised the production, calling it “a unique theater experience.”
