A.C.T. of CT Announces 2019 New Works Series Reading of “KILLING MOM”

A.C.T. (A Contemporary Theater) of Connecticut is proud to launch their 2019 “New Works Series” with a compelling professional reading of Megan Smith-Harris’s new play, Killing Mom. Scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at 3pm, this presentation will be open to the public free of charge.

The “New Works Series” at A.C.T. of Connecticut highlights emerging playwrights and composers, offering the Fairfield and Westchester County communities a glimpse into the development of Broadway-quality productions.

Following successful readings of Victory Train and Austen’s Pride in July 2018, which led to a fully-staged production, Killing Mom promises to engage audiences with its poignant exploration of family dynamics, aging, and the quest for favoritism among siblings. Written by Megan Smith-Harris, known for her impactful documentaries and leadership at the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival, the play is set to resonate deeply with A.C.T. of CT’s patrons.

Killing Mom is an extraordinarily clever new play that explores important issues that many families struggle with,” remarked A.C.T. of CT’s Artistic Director, Daniel C. Levine. “We believe this new work will captivate our audiences, and I am thrilled that our community will have the first opportunity to experience this wonderful script.”
