A Serendipitous Path to the Grammys for Daniel Levine ’94

Daniel C. Levine ’94 never imagined his journey would lead to a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album. Graduating from Brandeis with a theater arts major on a pre-med track, Levine’s life took an unexpected turn when he was cast in the Broadway national tour of Les Misérables in 1996. This marked the beginning of a successful Broadway career, spanning acting, producing, and directing.

Reflecting on his achievements, including founding A.C.T. of Connecticut and receiving a Grammy nomination, Levine credits his time at Brandeis for shaping his path. He emphasizes the importance of continually learning and adapting, stating, "Learning by doing has really been a theme in my life." Levine also highlights the significance of his Brandeis experience in influencing his and his siblings' educational choices. "Brandeis has become a family affair, which we’re all very proud of," he says.
